Good morning,
I am so sorry for the late
post, I have been traveling to experience life in a different momentum. I
just got back from the Philippines and it was life changing - I had the
opportunity of helping the disaster hit by the Typhoon Yolanda and
being part of the first stage of the Action Plan of Tacloban.
Before
talking about my experiences in Tacloban (where the typhoon hit), I
also traveled to Oceania - It was amazing. Depending on my mood, I will
write as much as I can...

Au Pied de Cochon - saison des pommes (apple season)
I finally experienced the Au Pied du Cochon food coma. I reserved months ago for the sugar shack - apple season. One word - expensive... worth it? I don't think so.
I don't know if it was because I heard so much about it that I was expecting more...

A visit to Toronto-Waterloo
Last week, I went to visit my friends in Toronto and Waterloo.
I
don't enjoy Toronto much. I just don't enjoy it! I really
hope that I don't work there. The younger me would have love to work in
Toronto but the older me hates it... maybe the middle age me will love
it again... However, I got to spend time with friends which I love.

Martin Luther King Jr. (1929-1968) - 1963 Speech
Please visit this site and watch the videos before reading.
After watching these short series, there is a feeling of disappointment from me to me. Where are the young leaders in this world? Where are we at? Are we solemnly trapped in our own self?
Speaking with friends and acquaintances made me realized that our education is teaching us to be successful and this success can only be measured with our salary, job title and materialistic things that we owned. Maybe I am over analyzing...

Modern Challah
What is Challah?
- It's a Jewish egg bread that we eat on Friday nights and special holidays
Every
Friday early afternoon, my step f-i-l makes challah in the bread
machine, just dump everything in the bread machine. It's delish
depending on what ingredient we have. It varies every week.

Au pied du Cochon - Renowned Montreal Restaurant in Plateau
I finally got the chance to eat au Pied du Cochon where all my
friends highly recommended it. I apologize in advance for the lack of
pictures because I am not used to taking pictures while eating. I have
been traveling for a while (3 years not in my hometown) so everything is
very overwhelming, especially the busy life of a big city.

A visit to Quebec City
Quebec City is where my best friend
reside with her fiancé. They got engaged a few months back and bought a
home together. She is a phD candidate at Université Laval and her
future husband-to-be is an engineer. They are both very cute (be the
judge with the below picture)

I am a banana
So right now I am starting to
settle down in a fast-paced city where friends and family are evolving
and changing constantly - career wise and personal advancement. As for
me, I am still trying to find myself within all the craziness. It is
quite overwhelming being around successful and motivated family members.
I am scared to disappoint and fall into the "useless person" category.
There is a person that reminds me constantly of this fear. If I didn't
have a supportive family that encourages me to follow my dreams, I
wouldn't be here writing my thoughts. I feel so grateful that I have an
amazing surroundings. I don't think I say it enough but thank you for
being there when I need guidance - it must be hard to grow up without
peers... I now don't envy people that don't have parents. Also, friends
are important but they can disappoint easily because of my expectations.
I will have to learn to keep my distance and not get hurt from them. I
am definitively going through some hard times so I want to apology to
people that I haven't contacted and talked because I don't want to
transfer my horrible mood onto you.
Taipei was fun when I wasn't with family except my cool cousin, it's been a while that I haven't visited Taiwan and the last time was 4 years ago for my honeymoon.

The easiest way to die...
I am sitting in the Vancouver
airport reflecting on my sudden trip to Taiwan. Life is so unexpected
and can be taken away very easily by other people or things.
My
husband is right, the easiest way for a person to die is to get into a
car accident. Grandma got hit by a car at 5am and died on the spot with
her skull in pieces and neck broken. I hope that she didn't die too
painfully. The hitter didn't seem very shocked by it. In fact, when we
went to court to settle this case, the judge automatically asked the
defendant if he dealt with his two other cases. It was not surprising to
me that he has done something like this previously... Oh life in Asia
is so different than life in America. I wouldn't want to live in Asia
permanently.
