Feb 18 2015. 3rd day in Moscow

Ouff, I was getting very tired by the 3rd day because of lack of sleep (so many good conversations with Sasha and Georges) and maybe the jet lag...

Today is the day where I get to spend time with Sasha because she was my tour guide. We decided to leave after Betsy was put to bed and her godmother came to babysit. We went off to Moscow center and walked around the city. She showed me different beautiful stops of their subway where free wifi was offered on the train so I could be on social media :) and checked my emails.

Very crazy subway map

Sasha's cottage cheese pancake, mixing cottage cheese with raisins and some sugar I think...and you fry it in oil and eat it with sour cream.

The famous Moscow metro - Inside a station. beautiful chandeliers and marble tiles

We went to St-Jesus the Great Savior basilica and it was breath taking. The inside, the paintings on the walls, gold, blue sky, the windows, candles and scripture in old Russian was just sublime. She prayed and I walked around.

After leaving the basilica, we bought some pastry from the bakery near the church because they are baked at the church to support the community. Afterwards, we walked the first circle of Moscow, the boulevard, from the old part and new part where we ate McDonald which felt actually healthy compared to North American McDonald... It was soooo goood

Normal bread... NOT

Afterwards, we went walking around the old part of Moscow and I started realizing that there are lots of American franchises in Russia even though there was a cold war between both countries which surprised me... I compiled them with pictures just as proof...LOL

Famous Kino's art wall, a famous singer

We went to the oldest brewery of Moscow. It was so good. I had crepe and fish on bread and a beet salad. Afterwards, we went for a drink and had girl talks. It was so much fun where we remembered our old times and teenage years - talked about boys, our stupidities and life in general.
I am going to turn 27 and I was panicking about it because time flies. I remembered when I was 16 and told myself where I was going to be at 27. Again, if I would die tomorrow, I wouldn't regret anything because I did so much for my age. Maybe one regret I can think of is to not have any kids. If you think about it, we were put in this world to pass down our genetic pools like all the other animals and insects...hahaha

It was an awesome day where I got to spend quality time with one of my oldest friend again in her beautiful city. Made me realized that I will miss her dearly when I leave her - thank goodness for social media and technology!

We head home after a few beers and stopped at a really nice subway station that commemorate the War. We hung with Georges and Betsy in the kitchen while I facetime with hubby because it was his birthday! We sang happy birthday via technology. It's been 2 years that we haven't celebrate our birthdays together because he was studying medicine in the Caribbean and I have been away travelling and working the odd jobs just because I can...
