Kansas City Missouri

Currently sitting in the Kansas City, Missouri airport waiting for my flight to go back home. My one week visit was amazing, I saw old friends and enjoyed my time with my husband. I still don't know how I am going to be a housewife later on in life... I really can't see myself not working - I have nothing against housewives (it is in fact the hardest job in the world!) but I just can't see myself being one unless I do have six children, but knowing myself, I will still try to make it work for me.

So one of the things that I was really surprised was how Kansas City is such a beautiful old city with lots of preserved buildings and different planning strategies by combining the old with the new. I will definitively go back and take better pictures.

My visit was short and sweet, I got to see where my husband spend most of his time - St-Luke Hospital and his neighborhood - Hyde Park is such a beautiful unifamilial old cottage style home with the front porch.

When I got there, first thing was to go to bed because I was up for more than 20 hours due to my crazy work schedule. The next morning, I drove my husband to work at 6:30am and decided to go explore and shop.

The Plaza

Afterwards, went to drive around the Plaza which is a chic district with nice store front of major brand. I realized my friend lived very close to the Plaza so got some white flat from starbucks and head to her house. I haven't seen her for about 2 months, last time I went to Vancouver to see her and drove her bmw while she fed her daughter - what a mom!

Beautiful store front

Because of being in Misouri, I had to try their bbq. We went to the gas station one which wasn't really amazing. Montreal Smoke's Pete's bbq ribs were so much better than that gas station ones. The ribs were dry and too salty. However, the pulled pork was very tasty (sweet, spicy and a hint of charcoal taste)

Food Tour

My husband and I love food, I can't really call ourselves foodies because its such a hipster term that I don't feel comfortable calling ourselves that... Anyways, he signed us up for a food tour. If you enjoy travelling, food tours are the best way to start your journey of exploration because the tour guide will bring you to local famous restaurants and areas of the city that you would not have explored on your own. The company that we went with was The taste of Kansas City, the tour guide, Rebecca was amazing, she has been living in Kansas for 12 years and love it. Through her guidance, people could see that Kansas is an upcoming metropolitan city with an up coming art and food district/ beautiful architectural buildings.

My team! Love Beau's face! There is 2 engineers, 1 physicist, 1 ballerina and 1 doctor on the table. We still lost!
